| The San Bernardino Valley College Library Technology Certificate Program is designed to prepare students to function effectively in a library clerical position. Taken alone, each course provides entry-level exposure to a particular library department or function. Presently employed library workers can also take courses to increase their level and variety of training in the library field. Courses for the program are rotated over a two-semester sequence, and are scheduled during the evening hours and on weekends to accommodate the working community. Classes taken at other colleges may be credited toward the certificate if a review of the transcripts and course descriptions by the Program Coordinator reveals that the classes have covered equivalent material. The latest college tuition information can be found on the Valley College Fees Page. For those requiring a two-year degree, most of the Library Technology courses in the certificate program will apply toward a library science major for an Associate of Arts degree.
